Remedial massage is designed to relieve tension in the muscle and the connective tissue (or fascia). Remedial massage is recommended for individuals with long term joint pain, are involved in highly repetitive physical activities or those who have sustained injury from specific incidents.
The process of seeking out tight fibers in a muscle band may be healed using a combination of Deep Tissue massage methods including Positional Release Therapy, Neuromuscular Technique/Trigger Point Therapy, Acupressure Release and Muscle Stripping.
Remedial massage is very effective in helping with circulatory problems by aiding the body's ability to perfuse the tissues with blood while also aiding in the removal of waste products from the cells. This allows cellular level healing which in turn facilitates tissue level restoration.
What to expect?
It is also not uncommon for receivers of Remedial Massage to have their pain replaced with a muscle soreness for a day or two post treatment. With the intake of water, absence of physical stresses and increase of rest periods individuals will gain the maximum benefits. Increased mobility, better sleep and ease of movement are the key objectives of any session. See After your Treatment advice.
