For Expecting Parents
In this workshop we will show Dad how to help Mum through the different stages of pregnancy. From back pain to swollen ankles, we will show Dad massage techniques for all parts of Mums body . This workshop has been specially designed so no massage tables are required and can be repeated at home.
Midwifes, nurses, obstetricians and other maternity industry professionals have long advocated the use of therapeutic touch in pregnancy and labour. The use of massage has been shown to encourage natural birthing and increase those important feelings of connectedness between Mum, Dad and Bub.
Through years of research and experiences, we will pass on to Dad all the nurturing strokes and spots to work. Dads will feel more like a father after this workshop having given the support to their partners that they not only need, but deserve!
Benefits of Pregnancy Massage:

- give relief from muscle cramps and spasms
- reduce stress on weight-bearing joints
- improve outcome of labour and ease labour process
- enhances the pliability of skin and underlying connective tissues
- allow an increase in blood and lymph circulation, which can reduce fluid retention
- provides support for the new mother with the physical and emotional strains of expectancy
- give some relief from myofascial pain (including sciatica) in the lower back, neck, hips and legs
The Workshop:
- This two hour workshop covers all the practical massage techniques to help Mum experience her term in as much comfort as possible.
- All our workshop practice will be through Mum’s clothing so please dress casually for the occasion. Also bring a towel and a pillow.
- Recommended for pregnant women in 2nd trimester or later.
